After 1985 due to the miners strike the type of work changed to Building Contractors, work included on site welding and girder work. Since 1988 he has predominantly specialised in sheet metal work, welding and fabrication. Paul McDonald junior started work in 1985 as an apprentice sheet metal worker. He passed all city and guilds and NVQ exams with distinctions. In 2006 he left full time employment to expand and meet sales demands of The Boxmen.
